The next Mauoq Music release sees the return of the successful COMBOS series, now in its third instalment. Having featured, among others, the likes of Bredren, Dexta and Dominic Ridgway in the first two releases, Mauoq brings yet more talent to the mix with forward-thinking beat makers Arkoze, I Wannabe and Robustus all adding their signature sounds.
Proceedings start with ‘Murmurer’ which sees gifted British producer Arkoze provide some lovely noises and glitches, perfectly fitting the minimal and seemingly sparse nature of the track, until the second drop comes in with some gentle yet groovy breakbeat choppage.
The second track is ‘Loose Halves’, a more uptempo number written with Bulgarian sound wizard Robustus. Having exchanged music for a good while the two met at Sun and Bass a few years ago and decided it was time to join forces on some music. This lush track is the result of that decision and will likely mark the return of Robustus to the scene.
To wrap up the package Ukrainian maestro I Wannabe returns to the label following his brilliant remix work on vinyl release MQM010. This time he provides some punchy drum sounds and lovely textures for the track ‘Bitclan’, a steppa riddim that’s already created some damage on various dancefloors.

Mauoq (born Mauro Campana) is a London based DJ/Producer originally from Rome,
Italy.
In love with the UK sound since the mid ’90s, he has always pushed the deepest and grooviest side of the Drum’n’Bass spectrum. Exposed to Dubstep at the end of 2005, this dub-tinged new genre has definitely caught his attention but mainly redefined his dnb taste. Less is more!

quarz is the most interesting drum&bass/electronic artist, that i discovered in the last years. i love all of his releases. he pushes the boundaries of d&b, with infusions of dubstep etc., but that are only words...he creates his own futuristic musical world, at the same time grounded in the d&b roots, a bridge from past to the future. these amazing 4 tracks are suited more for intense listening than for a dancefloor, complex beats and cinematic atmosphere, simply amazing. master at work!
